SUMMARY
Cadie Calhoun Wade is having a helluva week. She's the Thing of Honor for her sister's wedding. She's finalizing her divorce. The neighbor's dog keeps stealing into her house and treating her feet like a salt lick. And it's a certain anniversary for a day that still stays with her, even a year later.
Her childhood best friend is also back in town. And not any ol' friend, either. Bo Garrett just happens to be the most famous action hero in the world.
And boy, has Bo missed his Cadie! They parted on such dumb, stupid, moronic terms. And now that he's back in Phoenix to get some outside shots for his latest alien flick, he's not about to let her slip away again. Of course, his agent only has dollar signs in his eyes and thinks Cadie's no Angelina. Bo's sisters have a bit of a vendetta against her, too.
With the week Cadie's having, she wonders if it's just too much. That they just weren't meant to be.
Which means Bo needs to work overtime to convince her otherwise. Luckily, an action star knows when and how to flash his smile and his muscles. And when to let the heart do the talking instead.
Especially when it comes to the girl who was his biggest regret.

I read romantic comedies to make me laugh, make me feel good and to give me hope. Sydney Strand hits all those with His Favorite Regret. The book started out a little slow for me, but I'm okay with that because the world-building was fun. I got so frustrated with Cadie in the beginning and how she didn't try hard enough to create her own future. I literally wanted to reach through the pages and shake her. But, her character arc was great and she grows throughout the story. I loved to hate the ex. Strand has a great talent with making her characters real, but quirky. We all have our funny little idiosyncrasies in real life and she uses those and takes them to a great new level that's perfect for RomCom. A great fun read and I'm looking forward to the next one.Product details

I enjoyed this romance. I was sad to see the epilogue promised at the end is not released yet so I will have to check back for that to get some closure. Bo & Cadie were friends in HS, after their best friends death Cadie stands Bo up at prom, Bo leaves Arizona makes it big in Hollywood and comes home to shoot a movie and win the girl he never forgot back. Cadie, married a huge jerk out of HS and when this book starts she is waiting on her divorce papers to come. There were several moments of laughs and some sorrow that hit a little close to home for me. There wasn't a lot of smut so it was a good clean romance. Thankfully Bo & Cadie had history, otherwise the love in a week thing wouldn't have worked for me. I am excited to see if Sera, Cadies sister, finds love even if I spent 90% of the book not caring for her. She redeemed it towards the end.

This book was ok, it wasn’t great but it wasn’t a miserable slogfest that I couldn’t get through. I liked Cadie and Bo just fine however I hated pretty much everyone else in this book from Cadie’s soon to be ex (I know we’re supposed to hate him but he seemed more terrible than he needed to be) to most of Bo’s sisters (one was pretty good), Cadie’s sister and mom, Bo’s agent Max…I’m not sure there was a redeeming character trait in the lot. Sera, Cadie’s sister, seemed to be improving by the end. At that point though I’d spent so much of the book hating her that it was hard to believe the change. There seemed to be several loose ends and plot holes that were hard to get around for me. We never find out exactly what happened to Charlie when they were teenagers, just that he died. At one point in the story she’s wondering why she never told her sister about Georgia but at another they’re sitting at Georgia’s grave together talking about what they bring when they visit. And in spite of a couple of conversations about what happened when they were teenagers (what happened on prom night, why Bo left when he did etc) I still don’t feel like I understand what happened (and Bo’s sisters’ reaction…massive overkill for one offence!). All that said there were parts of this book I really did enjoy. I liked Cadie’s determination to reclaim her life and be happy (even when it wasn’t easy). This book can be read in an afternoon and while it isn’t one of my favorites (too much angst and drama for me) I’m sure there are those who will enjoy it more than I did. I really enjoyed reading this book. It has all that I look for in a romance with the added bonus of the great humor. Loved it!
Loved Cadie and Bo's story -- would definitely recommend it to someone wanting to read a really good love story!
Sydney Strand is my granddaughter. I think she is a fine author. I hope this and her upcoming books sell many copies.
This book was funny with a splash of romance. The characters are very funny too! If you like funny romance this is a book for you.
I'm a big fan of reunion stories, and Sydney Strand wrote a great one! Cadie and Bo were best friends in high school, and it's clear that they still have feelings for each other. It was fun to watch their love deepen. Lots of humor, and the parts of the dialogue had me laughing out loud.
